Unexpected journey~!

Hey everybody,

Today is my 2nd day in my uncle house. My uncle family are in Kuching leaving me alone in this house. Haha.

I met a nice friend from Miri who is having his internship in Finisar. This weekend, I decided to bring him around since he doesn't have any transportation. From going to church, shopping and even eating good food. Today was abit unusual. I asked him out for lunch and we had an expensive, Ipoh famous chicken rice for lunch in Ipoh town. I forgot the shop's name though. Sorry :) Then I drive him around to see the Ipoh town.

After driving around and me being a Sarawakian Ipoh tour guide, I am on the road back to his house :) He is staying at Klebang Jaya, just opposite Finisar. It was still early and I don't know where to bring him already. So, I suggested to go to Sungai Siput (further down) since I never been there before. So off we go. We reached Sg. Siput and drive through some housing estate and the time was still early again. Nothing much to see. Haha. So, I suggested to go to the royal town of Perak, Kuala Kangsar (KK). So off we go again. Haha.

Here are the pictures I took. Sorry for the poor pictures because I use my hand phone camera to take. It was an unplanned trip thats why.

This is the big clock. Its in Kuala Kangsar center. Basically, Kuala Kangsar town have 2 main roundabout which is then divided to different parts of KK which are then link back to the other junction of the roundabout. And there are always full of cars. Haha.

This is the Kuala Kangsar town. To my surprise, there is traffic jam in places like KK!!

So my friend, Leong, he contacted his friend regarding where to go and visit, where is interesting and nice to see in Kuala Kangsar. This is the first place we go.

The Sultan Azlan Shah gallery. We reach there at 445pm and unlucky enough, the muzuem closed at 430. =.= So, we only snap a few pictures from the outside. :D

We then go to our next destination.

The Ubudiah Mosque. It looks pretty grand and it is one of the most beautiful mosque in Malaysia according to wikipedia :D So, my friend and I went in and have a closer look.

This is the view from the parking area.

Then we continued our journey to the Istana Iskandariah. There is a road circle-ing the palace. The palace are not accessible to outsider. So, we took a slow drive around the palace and park at one area for some pictures.

Me.

And my friend, Leong.

On the way out, I saw another junction. I was curious so I turned in to see anything to see. Thus, we reached the Muzium Diraja Perak (Royal Perak Muzuem). Some call it Istana Kenangan (Memorial Palace). Like I've mentioned, we reach KK quite late so its closed for visitors. So we took some pictures from outside. It looks pretty grand too. This palace is unique compare to other palace because it is the only palace in Malaysia build without nails and woven bamboo walls. Its a muzuem now though.

Besides, there are 3 couples taking pictures there. Couple as in just married :D

Leong's friend mentioned of a famous laksa in KK. Called "Pak Ngah". So off we go hunting it. After seeking for some direction from a few people, we reached there. Apparently we asked a few people and they all know about this "Pak Ngah" laksa. So, I guess it must be pretty famous there :D

There is a small road next to a school. Really small road. Like entering a kampung. But at the end of the road, many cars were there. Haha. Here is how the shop look like.

This is the bowl of laksa. Quite nice I must say but still can't compare a single bit to Sarawak laksa. Haha.

What a wonderful day we had just too bad we didn't go earlier. Else we can visit the muzuem. Anyways, there are few place that we didn't visit such as The First & Oldest Rubber tree planted in the country and labu sayong - a traditional earthenware container. Haha. Maybe next time or when la. :D That's all from me. God bless.

Christmas plan gone ruin~

Hey everybody,

I just back from searching for bus ticket to Penang on this Thursday night at Medan Gopeng. Before this, I was undecided whether to go or not. Apparently, all 15 to 20 ticketing stalls in Medan Gopeng tickets are fully booked. Huhu. Imagine all the stalls only send out 1 bus. So 20 buses. Say 30 people per bus, means 600 people are going to Penang on that night from Ipoh alone. Haven't counted people who are driving. Plus people from other places. Haha. I pray that Penang don't sink this Christmas. Haha. Jk jk. Anyway, I think I just stay back celebrate Christmas in COP and hopefully meet up with Teik Hui.

Anyways, finally I got a task to do at work today. Sorting up information using excel. Alot to do. According to my colleague who is 2 months senior than me, said, in the beginning, this is the tasks they will give, and slowly get more and more difficult. Haha. Thats all for now. God bless.

First week of work~

Hi everybody,

This is officially the final day of my first week of work. If you all noticed, the coming 3 weeks, we will have all 3 Friday holidays. This week, awal muharam (if not mistaken), next week Christmas (maybe my company is giving 2 days hols, heard some people mentioning it), and the following Friday (2010 new year). Lolx.

Well my first day of work was ok. First 3 days were mostly briefing. Briefing about policy, safety, person to contact, procedure etc etc. Very tiring trying to hold myself from not sleeping. At the end of Wed briefing, got test some more. I hope I can pass lar... Must get 80/100 ler. Haha.

Since this is my first job, I'm quite stressed up thinking all the what if question. What if I can't cope with my job? What if I can't perform? What if they expect so much more from me? What if this what if that really made me worried about it. But during this past two weeks bible reading (quiet time), God reminds me and telling me of many things.

First, in James 1:5
"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him."
Which means I should ask wisdom from Him when I'm in need like how king Solomon did.

Also, Psalms 119:105
"Your word is a lamp to my feet & a light to my path"
God reminds me that I have to read His unchanging word and it will be the path for my life.

Also, in Pastor Clement's sermon, Deuteronomy 28.
"Seek first the kingdom of God, and blessing will chase after you. We don't chase after blessing like how most people in the world does."

Many more too. These are the few that really struck me. So, I will do my best here in Ipoh for God's glory. Do commit me in prayer ya.

Anyway, now lets talk about non holy stuff. Haha.

This is my desk at work. I have a powerful comp and a cubical for myself. But soon, this will be the location of my stress. Haha.

This is Swet Ping. Sitting behind me only. A wonderful colleague. She is a week senior than me. Haha.

So far, only two pics. Haha. I forgot to bring to the canteen to take some pics. Maybe if I have opportunity in future. Haha. For this first week in Ipoh, guess what I enjoyed most? Haha. Is this...

A king size bed in Excelsior hotel. I'm so gonna miss it next week. When I get to own a house, I will get a bed, big bed for myself. Haha.

Anyways, thats all from me now. Happy holidays. :)

crying~

Hi everybody,

My dad just left me for Singapore. This mixed feeling inside me make me feel so weird.

After back from sending my dad, I flashed back all the activities that I had with my dad for the past week and in fact, it shows how much my dad loves me and cares for me.

Usually, he is the boss, he decides what to eat, what to do etc etc. These past week, I'm like the king of the world. Back in KL, he drives me around, bring me to eat, buy new clothes for me, take care of me when I'm sick, make sure I eat my medicine, make sure there is enough water for me etc. Ya, he too pat me very often and say he will miss me. Its not just king, its more than king.

In Ipoh, I am like a king too. He drives me around. And bought me alot of things. To him, these are the last few only things that he can give me before leaving me with my new job in Ipoh. All my basic needs from hanger, detergen, pail to even my internet connection is taken care of. And again, he often mentioned how much he would miss me. He is happy with me getting a job here in Ipoh but the feeling of leaving me behind wasn't easy for him too.

To any human being, I feel what a person need most in his/her life is nothing but love. Like what God said in 1 Corinthians 13, if we have such great faith that can move mountains but without love, it is nothing. I feel so loved by my dad that I feel so reluctant to leave him physically. After 5 months of pampering at home, to leave him and also my family of course, wasn't easy.

I believe most people will say, life goes on, and I just gonna do my best to make him proud and I will always remember how much he had done for me to the end of my life.

Sorry for the poor structure of this blog. What I thought, I just type, no recheck and all. All based on feelings.

In Ipoh~

Hi everybody,

After a morning of drive on the highway, we reached Ipoh safely. Thank God for that. I on my laptop to check for available wi-fi connection. I was so happy to see there are so many connections available compare to PERMATA but the thing is, non are connect-able. So, back to square one, connect using my handphone. Haha.

Now I'm in Excelsior, the room seems to be quite nice. Gonna stay here for 2 weeks. Awesome. Haha. Thats all for now.

By the way, I'm fever and sorethroat free dy. Cheers~

PERMATA trip~

Hi everybody,

I'm now in KL. Not exactly KL. I'm in PERMATA with my dad. He has a course here.

The journey to PERMATA was really a testimony. On the 8th December, both my father and I, reached KLIA and we took a taxi to pick up our car from the cargo. After an hour plus in the taxi, we finally reach our destination. We reached at 550pm. Guess what, their working hour is till 6pm. Praise God.

Then off we go to PERMATA. My dad said drive towards Putrajaya, and then towards Bangi. We all ended up reaching Bangi instead of PERMATA. Lol. We all dropped by a chinese operated sundry shop. The guy there was friendly, he told us the way. After dinner, off we go according to his direction. His directions were so clear in my head. Every single words he said I tried to remember and try to picture it. "I don't want to get lost again," I said to myself.

Praise God, we reach at 850pm. And once again guess what, the working hour for the people working at the "check in" counter is 9pm. So, happily we check in. And the room was much better than I expected. Thank God.

What a day. Haha.

I am very happy because I am able to meet my batch mate, Isaac who is working here in Permata. We met up for lunch and had great time despite getting lost looking for char siew rice :D Its really a divine appointment by God for me to meet Isaac here because I'm not a Petronas employee and that means I don't don't come to this place for training. And seldom too I follow my dad to his course. Haha.

The downside of this trip was, the second day (9th December), I caught a fever. I had slight sorethroat in the morning and at night, I have fever. After taking two Panadols, I got much better. Now all I need is some good rest because we going to Ipoh tomorrow. Haha.

Good night.

Hey everybody,

Today is my last day giving "baby sitting" sessions dy.

It had been 5 months I've been doing this part time job. I called it baby sitting cause I'm teaching playful, naughty, noisy, hyper active, small kids violin and piano. I remember them crawling under the chair, acting like robot etc etc. Lolx. Ya, I forgotten one, talkative too!!! :P I was abit stressed up in the beginning coping up with their hyperactive-ness, managing them by asking them to sit still on a chair, making sure that they learn something each lesson etc etc. It wasn't easy. Guess God is preparing me for hyperactive kids in future. Sweat. I somehow come to realize that parents nowadays are willing to spend money for their own kids to learn music. Even only learn a little per lesson too. Hehe. Furthermore, the fees were quite expensive nowadays.

After getting an exact date of me working in Ipoh (14 December 2009), the time I had left in Bintulu were very precious. This whole week, I had 4 "baby sitting" sessions in a row. Monday to Thursday. Suddenly, I got that type of feeling I'm gonna miss this. Here are some pics I took on the last day of my "baby sitting" sessions.

This is Titus.

This is Clement.

Both of them are my teacher's sons. The youngest is this one, Raymond. I don't give him lessons but sometimes I baby sit him too. Hehe. Btw, I have a few other students. But I didn't have any picture of them as I only bring my camera on the last day. Hehe.

This is the clerk at the piano school there. :D

And yeah,

I got a farewell gift too :D

A music cup. But no song come out la. Haha.

What made me most touch was when Titus told me just now, he said that he waited everybody to sleep last night so he can practice. He said he did all this because his teacher is leaving liao. Normally, he don't practice at all le for the whole week. Hmm.. (Guess his teacher should leave more often for him to practice more ho?)

That's all for this post :) God bless.

Unforgetable Saturday~

Hey everybody,

Today is like any normal Saturday where I will go to church for youth at 745pm and have music practice after that for the next day service.

I was so happy seeing my guitar skills improving from time to time. I played slightly faster than before and I feel I blended better with our church worship team too. Besides, I see great improvement in terms of coordination and teamwork among the team too. I really want to praise God for that.

But something sad happened...

After practice today, as usual I keep my beloved electric guitar into its bag and off I go. Suddenly,

"BANG!!"

Everybody in the church turned around and looked at me and at that second, I realized my guitar is on the floor. I remembered I zipped my guitar bag properly earlier on and I wondered how did my guitar dropped anyway. I then looked at d bag once again to find out.

THE ZIP GAVE WAY!!!

Immediately, I picked up my guitar and looked for any damage caused by the fall. Here is the result.

A different angle view.

And some scratches at the knob and a little crack. Can't really see here though.

Ok, continue. In my mind I was saying to myself, "cham liao this time. No cure liao. It will be a very horrible mark there dy. Will my guitar still sound as good?"

Many of my church friends are waiting to close the door, so I didn't get to test the sound. So, I rushed home and quickly plugged my guitar to my amp. All the strings ran out of tune and I quickly tune them back. I wonder anything in the guitar could spoil or not. After tuning, the sounds seems like the same. I really hope it wouldn't spoiled so fast eh... Only 4 months old nia. Hmm. I would be grateful if some of you can leave some comments for any guidance. Thanks.

Anyway this is how my guitar look in whole.

May God's will be done~

FAQ:

Q: You already got a job?

Usually the answer is "no. I'm still jobless and still applying job everywhere."

Then the next question will be..

Q: Then what you do at home? Not boring?

Well, not that boring. I usually online (chat with friends), play game, hang out with friends, and also teach piano and violin every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon to earn a little pocket money. At times though, I do feel abit left out when friends already got job though.

Well, it all changes when I received a phone call at 6:35pm, 17 of November from Finisar in Ipoh. When I see a Ipoh number I knew it was Finisar dy because that's the only company I applied in Ipoh. I wasn't expecting that they would hire me as I felt I didn't do well in the interview which was held last week. Well, by the grace of God and help from a great friend (you know who you are), the answer from the lady on the phone was "the management has decided to hire you."

I was so shocked that I can't believe my ears. After almost half a year jobless applying here and there, this is the first job offer I got in which I have the least confidence in after interview. Like what the bible say in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10,

”but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities for the sake of Christ; for whenever I am weak, then I am strong.”

I just really want to thank God for His provision and really through this, I know that he hasn't forgotten about me. :D Now, I need to wait for the company to get some letter from UTP only they will issue a offer letter to me. So, the next struggle will be just about how I catch up with this new job. May God continue to guild me in this area too.

Glory be to GOD!!!

to those who are in UTP

To all my UTP friends and my dear COP members who are still in UTP,

I'm really worried and scared when I heard about the news regarding evacuation of the students there. You all please persevere and trust in God. Pray to Him as often as you can and ask for His protection ya.. Will be always praying for you guys. Drink enough water, sleep right, eat right, do right, pray right and everything will be alright.

For those who are quarantined,

Trust in God and get well as soon as possible. Will also pray for you all. Do not give up hope. God has a plan.

Prayerfully that the convo would not be postponed and this H1N1 situation will be under control by then too :D Or not things will be much harder.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!

Hols at home~

Hey everybody,

hows things back there? For the past few weeks I had been enjoying life (Eat, tv, surfing the net, sleep, badminton, jogging and of cause help mom in housework too :P). I hadn't really took the effort to apply for jobs yet though many of my friends are working already. Anyway, really wanted to thank God that I was able to report to PETRONAS online instead of making another trip to KL. Thanks to my friends James for the help.

Anyway, I have some pictures to share with you all.

On my sis' birthday, Stephanie, Joel and I made a cheesecake for her. This cheesecake is my all time favourite cake. Really the best cake ever. Hehe. Too bad the cheese wasn't fresh, so the cake tasted a bit bitter. But, few days later, we went to buy another cheese to make another cheesecake. Something like revenge because that day's cheesecake wasn't a success. :P Here's the picture of it. Looks good le...

Yesterday, our every Friday CG was held in our house. Mom and grandma boiled some "lek tao shua". Some sort of beans, don't really know how to call it in English. Mann.... tasted so good. This is a picture of my mom scooping it from the pot into the bowl for the cg members. Slimy and yet satisfied!! (quoted from "the lion king") :P

Usually, its served with some fried kuih, "iu zha kueh".

Then today morning, we ate something special and different. Guess what,
.

.

.

.

LOBSTER!!!!

The lobsters were indeed fresh. Beyond fresh!!!
The lobsters were still alive when my dad bought it from the wet market this morning. He was so excited until he woke me up in the morning to see these lobster. Haha. Thank God that we managed to get it with a cheap price :P You might ask how we kill a lobster? Its very violent.

Death sentence = Steamed to death!!!

After cleaning them, then immediately put into the steaming pot. That's all. Quite violent ho.. Hmmph.. What to do~ :P

Look at the head inside, orange color, we usually called it "Kor" in teo chew. That is always the best part of a prawn. This lobster ah, Hmm.. how to explain how it taste like? It taste something like the mixture of crab and prawns.

That's all I wanted to share in this post. God bless~

Tuesday, June 9, 2009

Hey everybody,

This blog was suppose to be out last week but apparently I cant complete them as it took ages for me to upload d pics. Haha. This was officially my first week of my holiday. It is over!! Of all the exams, of assignments, of test, of fyp presentation is all over now~ Well, in a way its sad too as I will be missing alot of exciting activities in UTP such as our every night prayer meeting, our supper at V5, our feeding fish and flying kite experience at the field, our COP (Church Of Praise) activities such as intro nite, farewell nite, supper at McD, and above all, all my dear friends... Like what my dad use to tell me,

"College life is the best. Appreciate them"

So, for the first week of my hols, I went over to Penang. Penang is really the best place to be, of course after my home la.. Best is home, second is Penang. Why Penang? Its because I enjoy food. Haha.. Kelvin and I went over to pay a visit in Penang. Really want to thank William's family for such a great hospitality.

Well, this is a picture of our first day in Penang. We went for a morning jog at the Mangkuang (dono how to spell) dam.

The view there is very nice. Very conducive for jogging. Just abit hazy.

After that we did went over to the island to have some meeting up with Kana, Hann and Melissa. Didn't took any pics of them. Lol.

At night, we had steamboat. Simple and nice. Really wan to thank God once again for such great hospitality William's family gave. Both Kelvin and I really get to know alot about history, about stamps, about William's family lifestyle etc.

Yah.. We had some wine too. This wine is very stubborn. Very hard to open. Need three strong man to work together opening it. Lol.

Guess what's for supper??
.
.
.
Ta ta..

Favourite fruit. Durian!!! Penang durian is also very nice... Man.. wan eat again... Lol..

The next day, Diane brought us around Penang. We went to Gurney Plaza (walk around and bought a birthday present for William), the best part is the botanical garden. It was so beautiful. Beyond what I can describe to you. The flowers, the natural trees with more than hundred years old, the setting, the environment, the road, the view, the nature, the waterfall.. etc. Really can't believe my eyes. Here are a few excellent pictures taken.

This blue flower is really nice.. Love it so much.. Hehe.

The next day, we went to Batu Feringgi. The view there again was very nice. Here are a few more pics.

So beautiful..

After that, we had lunch with William's family. And then straight celebrate his pre-birthday. Haha. "happy birthday to William"

It was such a memorable trip in Penang. Then off we go to Banting. Xiao Qi's house to put a night there. It was a long sweating journey to her house. I had to wait at KFC for 5 hours for Jack and Teik Hui to come that morning so we can go to Banting together. After we meet, we had to walk to the Pasar Seni bus station and with so much of luggage, it is very far. Plus, the bus from Klang to Banting was quite bad,. The bus driver wait until the bus is super duper pack only he start moving the bus. Can't really sit well. Now we know, how much Xiao Qi have to go through to get home. Haha. Anyways, it was really great being in Banting. We had bak kut teh, sak bak, homecook steamboat etc. It was a really great fellowship with his family. Here are some pics:

A beach there. Forgot the name. Haha.

Then, we gave xq her pre-birthday present. Since we wouldn't be meeting her this during her birthday. A specs. How do you think she look? Drop a comment. Haha. There's another story behind this specs too. I guess I don't have to touch on that topic. Haha. We had great time at the park too. :P

Really great time there. Before we leave around the evening, we had a group pic in her house.

Tat's all. Haha. Upcoming post will be my tour in Cambodia and Vietnam. Huhu.
